success

Today was the last day of summer camp
After all the hoopla on the first day,
Jordan rocked it out the rest of the camp!
He always came out of class with a big smile
Leah would run up to him and give him
Big hugs and kisses
He would squeeze her right back
He had fun creating lots of art for our fridge
All of it orange of course!
He had fun singing and dancing with his friends
He told  me he made a friend named Cayden
But it was not his cousin
There is another boy
Named Cayden
Can you even believe it?
(He was VERY surprised, too cute)
They took field trips to the park and the library
Today Officer Patty (a mechanical talking police car)
Visited camp to talk about safety
Of course she knew Jordan and said hello him
Jordan always tells me he is a bigger guy now
He is so proud when he can put on his own socks
Or get his jammies on without any help
Or how he can pedal his trike all by himself
He is eager to show anyone who will watch his new skills
Soon he will be off to preschool
We could not be more excited to be part of many more adventures
And to see what he will be learning next!

The Sweetest Thing...

Happened today
I have been waiting
To hear them
When I finally heard
Three of the sweetest words
From this sweetie pie
My heart skipped a beat
I shrieked with joy

Could hearing the words,
"I love you"
From the mouth of your little lady
For the very first time
Be any sweeter

Leah said, "I love you" to Daddy
Today for the first time
Today was a wonderful day

Summer Camp

Jordan started summer camp today
It was a little hard on everyone at first
He cried when we dropped him off
I have to admit I cried a tear or two too
He couldn't understand why we couldn't stay
He couldn't understand why Leah couldn't stay
Leah was lost at home without him

She kept asking me, "Where Jordy go? "
Taking me by the hand and saying, "Find him"
She was wandering around his room looking at all his toys
She was dragging his favorite Cookie Monster around the house
Repeating over and over, "Where go, where go?"
We got to camp a few minutes early to pick up
I peeked in the window
He was having a blast
Dancing and singing with his friend Isabella
When class was done
He came running out the door
He was smiling ear to ear and he grabbed Leah's hand
He asked me why I left him
He told me he was crying looking all over for me
He also said he had so much fun
He kept talking about all the fun things he did with his friends
With a great big smile he asked when he could go again
We will see how it goes
When I put him to bed for the night he asked me again why I left him
I told him because it was only for kids
He said when I become a kid then I can come with him
He told me it was nice but he does not want to go back to camp
I hope he changes his mind before Monday
He is not making this easy on me

A Little Leah

Makes us smile
She loves to make us laugh
She is such a joy
Drew said the other day
He is so happy he has a little girl
He did not know it when I first became pregnant
He needed a little girl in his life
Every man needs a daughter
Every woman does too
If not a daughter,
Everyone needs a little Leah
She is a joy
