Once again 5:00 on Thursday and I find myself with nothing for the theme this week. Nothing. While it was still light I decided to go ahead and clip a few Hydrangeas from my yard and go with a vintage edit
I love Hydrangeas. I have one gorgeous bush in my yard and I wish I had dozens more.
Maybe next week I will get it together before Thursday night.
Be sure to head on over and check out what the very talented Amy Craft, San Antonio Photographer has in store for us. I am sure it will be amazing.

she is three
I can hardly believe my little lady is three,
it seems like just yesterday I saw her smile for the very first time
Some things about Leah at 3...
She loves to cuddle, especially at night when she is falling asleep
She calls me "her person"
When she is mad she will cry
She will cry so loud and hard that I think she is physically hurt
Most times she is crying because her feelings are hurt
She adores Jordan, and wants to do everything that he does
She cannot wait to play baseball next spring
She has been practicing, and let me tell you, my girl can swing
She goes to preschool now and loves it!
She comes back and tells me all about how they dance, sing and clap
She says "hims" instead of "his" and it is super cute
She is a girly girl
She loves to dress up
She loves shoes, clothes and jewelry
My go to bribe these days is to let her wear some of my lipgloss
Gets her every time, just like her mama she is a sucker for lipgloss
She does not like to go to sleep at night
She will get out of her bed many, many, many times
It takes at least an hour of going in and out of her room
She will try anything to get out of going to sleep
She loves to watch movies
Her favorite shows these days are Wild Kratts, Special Agent Oso
Her favorite movie right now is Peter Pan
She always assigns everyone in the house a character from whatever show she is watching
She loves animals, especially dogs
She brought home a picture of her family from school and she included a dog
She is strong minded and determined to always get her way
She is funny, always making faces or sounds to try to make us laugh
I am so incredibly proud to say she is my daughter
She really amazes me,
She makes me laugh
I fall in love with her over again every day
I am looking forward to another amazing year with my "big" girl
I am sure it will be just as amazing and filled with adventure like the past three
it seems like just yesterday I saw her smile for the very first time

fifty two on friday ~ week 37 (perspective)
To most this may look like nothing special but from my perspective this is one of the sweetest sights. I love all the artwork my kids bring home from school but I can tell he really put some thought into this one. He worked on this little book about his family for the entire week and was talking about it every day. He was so excited when he was finally allowed to bring it home. He was really proud of his handiwork.
In case you were wondering Leah is in blue, notice the piggy tails. Then comes Drew, then Jordan and I am in the green (my favorite color). He even included his fish, Nemo and Marlin, in purple.
Now head on over and check out what the talented Amy Craft, San Antonio Texas Photographer has in store for us.

school days
Every night at dinner time we go around the table and we each talk about our day. It is so cute to hear what the kids have to say about their day. Today Leah played with her friends, painted paper and drank juice. Jordan sang songs, played with a train and painted an apple picture complete with a squirmy worm. The kids are having so much fun at school and they talk about what they played with, friends they made and games they played. They are learning so much too.
Leah always says, hims instead of he or his. She will say, "Hims has on a yellow shirt" or "Hims is silly Mommy." The other day I heard Jordan talking to Leah and he was correcting her telling her to say, "He is silly Leah, he is silly" she replied with "Hims is silly." Jordan repeated the correct way and told her to try again. When she finally said it right he tackled her with the biggest hug and kiss and said "Great job Leah! You are learning!" I was grinning ear to ear hearing him teaching her. It had to be one of the cutest things I have heard in a while.

fifty two on friday ~ week 35 (on the street)
The kids got new bikes this week with some money that Leah got for her birthday. They were super excited but poor Leah can't quite peddle yet because we got the bigger ones and hers is just a tad too big for her right now. I am sure she will be able to pedal it before we know it.
Jordan on the other hand is like an old pro and is a peddling fool. He loves his new bike. I was a little worried because we could not find a red bike at the store and he is stuck on the color red right now but it did not phase him at all. On our way home from school we prepared him by talking about all the cool different colored fire trucks and how some airport fire trucks are yellow.
After he went up and down our street a few times he asked if we could go for a ride around the block and I told him that would be ok. When we got to the end of our street I told him to turn right and he said, "No thanks, since I am I on the bike Mom I am the boss, deal?" He wanted to go the long way around the block. I told him he was going to be tired but he insisted. Of course less than half way around he declared that I was right, we should have gone the short way because his legs were tired and next time he said we were going to go the short way around.
When we got home he walked over to the tricycles and started to pick them up. When I asked him what he was doing he said he was putting them in recycling bins so that the garbage man could take them next time he came to our house. He said that we didn't need them anymore because they were for babies.

today
I was busy picking up around the house when I heard her little voice call out to me. When she asked if I would come lay down with her I eagerly jumped at the chance to crawl in bed with her. It is one of my favorite things to do, snuggling up close to my children to take a nap. Sadly, I don't always do it. Sometimes when they ask I tell them no.
Leah's favorite place is nestled right up in the crook of armpit. She is not the best at taking naps but if I lay down with her she will fall asleep. I don't know what it was about today. If it was the way her tiny hand grabbed mine and wrapped it around hers. Or if it was the way she asked me to stay with her forever. Or if it was the way her hair smelled of a hard days play. I just felt sad and when she finally fell asleep I started to sob. They were the kind of tears that come all the way down from your gut. I was making the bed shake so hard I thought I was going to wake her up from her nap.
I started to wonder if I yell at my kids too much? I started to worry if my kids will hate me when they grow up? I started to wonder about all the mistakes I am making. It is so unbelievably hard being a good mom and wife. My only hope is that someday everybody will realize I do my best and they will know that it all comes from a place of love. Really that is all any woman can hope for right? I am not perfect, obviously. But I try. I just hope that will be enough.

fifty two on friday ~ week 34 (brave)
The brave show I had to put on for my "babies" on their first day of preschool this year was nothing more than just that, a show. I felt tears welling up inside me but I held them back. At least while I was with them. I may or may not have let a few fall when they were not looking.
I was not sure how the kids would do going to preschool but they started the day out right. When we walked out the door of the house to go to school Jordan asked Leah, "What do you think of boys?" her answer, "Uucky!" Their Daddy is teaching them both well!
Leah gave hugs and kisses to both Drew and I and walked right in the door and never looked back. She immediately walked over found the accessories and she was a happy girl. She had so much fun. When I picked them up the teacher told me that she was awesome! Leah told me she played with apple peels, danced, sang songs and drank pineapple juice.
Jordan walked in the front door of the school and never looked back. I didn't even get a kiss and a hug goodbye because I was helping Leah hang up her bag and by the time I looked he was already in his room playing. I didn't want to disturb him so I just snapped a pic and left him to have some fun with his new friends. When I picked him up he said he had so so so much fun! He said that he played in a pirate ship, cut out pieces to make an apple picture and played on the playground.
They were both so brave today and they cannot wait to go back to school.
Please head on over and check out what the talented Liza Hall has in store for us.
